Producing 0.4-1.0mm thin-wall tube causes two failures on ordinary mills. The weld either burns through because heat input is too high, or it opens up because the strip edges lose alignment before they meet at the weld point, leaving cold welds and split seams.
Thin strip has low thermal mass, so excess welding energy instantly melts through the wall. At the same time, thin edges are easily deformed by forming pressure, and any speed or tension fluctuation widens the weld gap and produces an open or cold weld along the seam.
The ZY16 pairs a 100kW solid-state HF welder with a 200m/min accumulator that feeds strip at constant tension. Solid-state output gives fast, precise power response, so weld heat follows line speed and stays just enough to forge the 0.4-1.0mm edges without burn-through. Stable tension keeps the weld gap closed, so the seam fuses fully across the thin wall.

The thin-wall capability is supported by matched power and tension control. The solid-state welder trims heat output as speed changes, while the accumulator holds strip tension steady, so 0.4-1.0mm tube welds cleanly without the burn-through or cold-weld rejects that plague light-gauge runs, keeping scrap low.
Ideal for light gauge tube in furniture frames, curtain rods, display stands, cable conduits and thin-wall automotive components where low weight and clean weld appearance matter.
Choose this mill when wall thickness is 0.4-1.0mm. For walls above 1.0mm, higher power and heavier forming stands are needed; confirm your minimum wall before ordering rollers, because a 0.4mm setup differs from a 1.0mm setup in roll gap.
Thin-wall round and square furniture tube, electrical conduit, and lightweight structural tube for shelving and point-of-sale fixtures.
Yes, the 100kW solid-state HF welder modulates power with line speed, keeping heat input matched to the thin strip to prevent burn-through, and the constant-tension accumulator holds the weld gap stable.
Edge gap widening from tension or speed fluctuation is the main cause; the 200m/min accumulator keeps strip tension constant to hold the weld gap closed, so the edges fuse consistently.
0.4-1.0mm. Running walls below 0.4mm or above 1.0mm falls outside the mill's optimized forming and welding window and would need different tooling.
Yes, roll gaps and profiles differ between the two ends of the range, so we size tooling to your specific wall thickness.
Burn-through from excess heat and cold welds from an unstable gap; the ZY16 controls both with speed-matched power and constant-tension feeding.
With the appropriate roll tooling, the mill can form square and rectangular profiles in the Φ8-18mm equivalent range; confirm your cross-section when ordering.
