When a mill is pushed to high speed, the strip becomes unstable. Coil changes stop the line, tension surges pull the weld seam off-center, and forming rollers heat up and shift, causing scrap and downtime that erase the speed gain.
Speed amplifies every upstream variation. Without a buffer store, the line must slow for each coil change; without stable tension, the weld gap oscillates at speed; and without heat management, roller geometry drifts under friction load as bearings and shafts warm.
The ZY16 uses a 200m/min high-speed accumulator so coil changes never stop the forming line, and staged five-plus-three forming keeps the strip path stable at 90m/min. Roller shafts in 42CrMo resist thermal drift, holding geometry under sustained high-speed running, while the solid-state welder tracks speed to keep weld heat constant.

At 90m/min the ZY16 sustains output because the accumulator removes coil-change stops and the solid-state welder tracks speed. The 42CrMo shafts hold geometry under the heat of continuous running, so a full shift keeps weld quality without frequent roll correction, maximizing meters per shift.
Suited to high-volume runs of Φ8-18mm pipe such as furniture tube, conduit and fence products where output per shift drives unit cost.
Choose this mill if your order book needs sustained 90m/min output on Φ8-18mm. If you run frequent short batches with many size changes, a slower line with quick-change tooling may give better overall utilization.
High-volume furniture tubing, continuous conduit production, and fence or handrail tube where daily tonnage determines profitability.
90m/min is the maximum design line speed; the practical continuous speed depends on wall thickness and the weld heat required for the material, so thinner strip runs faster than thicker strip.
The 200m/min accumulator stores strip ahead of the forming section, so the line keeps producing while a new coil is loaded and welded to the tail.
The solid-state HF welder tracks line speed automatically, keeping heat input constant so weld quality is maintained across the speed range, including ramp-up and steady running.
Material, wall thickness and required weld heat set the practical ceiling; the machine's 90m/min rating is the design maximum for the Φ8-18mm range.
It depends on OD and wall, but sustained 90m/min running without coil-change stops typically delivers far more meters per shift than a start-stop line.
The stands are mechanically driven and synchronized to line speed, with the solid-state welder and accumulator coordinated for continuous production.
